We make every effort in the preservation of our patients’ teeth, however sometimes, due to vast tooth decay, advanced gum disease or severe trauma, the tooth cannot be saved. In these cases, extraction of the severely damaged tooth may be the best and healthiest option. The procedure is done under local anaesthetics and your dentist will ensure that the procedure is completely pain-free. Before the procedure you will also be advised on all appropriate prosthodontic treatment (tooth replacement) options, did you wish to replace the missing tooth after the extraction.
